The Sixaola has a formal 3 year warranty.
Your Sixaola warranty will be automatically extended past the initial 3 year warranty period for each year you maintain a technical support contract with OSOP for 60 or more hours/ year.
- Plastic Box
- If the plastic box ever breaks for any reason, we will give you one for free.
- Geophones
- If the geophones ever fail for any reason, we will replace them for free.
- 3D Printer Parts
- If any of the 3D printed parts ever fail for any reason, we will replace them for free.
- Main board
- If the main board fails after the three year warranty period, we will replace it for a flat fee of 500 USD.
- BeagleBone Black Computer
- If the BeagleBone Black computer goes bad after the three year warranty period, we will replace it fully programed for a flat fee of 100 USD. If the BeagleBone Black computer is no longer available on the market, we will provide a suitable replacement.
- BlueTooth
- If the bluetooth board fails, we will replace it for a flat fee of 50 USD.
- USB
- That leaves us with the USB flash memory, the weakest link. The USB flash memory will be replaced for free in the first three years. Please take a look at this
Nanometrics white paperon CF, SD and USB flash memory. Please be aware that using a USB for storing continuous data will probably kill it, eventually. The good ones get about 100,000 write cycles before they die and need to be replaced.
All the above terms are subject to the single limitation that the replacement part is still manufactured.
- Not included in the warranty:
- Replacement of stolen or vandalized equipment
- Damage for inconsistent electricity/ lightning (this is by far the most common failure after the USB). We recommend pairing each Sixaola with a UPS for protection.
